The Dutch helmet
In the exhibition you can see
more than sixty steel helmets that together give an overview of the development of the steel helmet for the Dutch army. From The First World War to the aftermath of conscription, all major variants can be seen. There are also trips to helmets as used by the National Police, or with the troops in the former Dutch East Indies, who were then specially prepared for the tropical conditions there. The exhibition is therefore definitely an inhead for anyone who has been "under the armor" ...
The photo shown comes from the NIMH and has also been used for the front of the book that has now appeared, the standard work on the development of the Dutch steel helmet from 1916 to 1992.
