Borgward Leichter Zugkraftwagen 3-t
Another newcomer at Militracks, and what a one it is! Especially for the event, this Borgward 3-ton Zugmaschine, Sd.Kfz. 11, is coming over from Normandy. Its tensile load was 3 tons mainly to pull the 10,5-cm-leFH 18 (light howitzer 18). For the fans: the chassis of this vehicle is the same as that of an Sd.Kfz. 251. Nowadays only ten of these vehicles still exist in Europe. This one was found in the 1970s in the Vosges region, where it was used as forestry vehicle, and nowadays it belongs to the splendid collection of the renowned Overlord Museum, located in Colleville-sur-Mer on Omaha Beach. And in case you go there, you definitely want to visit the fantastic museum shop too!
