DKW F2

We are happy to welcome this exceptionally rare DKW F2 Kübelwagen this year. When DKW merged into Auto Union, the company sought to supply government authorities and the Reichswehr/Wehrmacht with its new DKW front-wheel drive vehicles. To this end, a three-seat Kübelwagen was developed on the basis of the F2-F5 chassis. From February 1934, 100 vehicles were approved for production, half of which were fitted with off-road tyres. A limited-slip differential was installed to improve off-road capability. Production took place at the Audi factory in Zwickau, with body construction and final assembly carried out by Fahrzeugbau Schumann GmbH in Werdau. This model never appeared in official sales catalogues — it was exclusively intended for Behörden and Reichswehr/Wehrmacht. An estimated 224 vehicles were produced in total.
