Horch 830R Kfz. 17 Funkkraftwagen

The Horch 830R was a military Kübelwagen derived from the luxurious civilian Horch 830 — an Auto Union flagship powered by a V8 engine, built in Zwickau. For army service the design was simplified yet reinforced, fitted with rigid axles for off-road use. As Kfz. 17 Funkkraftwagen, the vehicle received an enclosed body housing radio equipment, serving as a mobile communications station. Between 1934 and 1937, the Wehrmacht received over 4,500 Horch 830Rs. Most were lost on the Eastern Front. This 1936 example is exceptionally rare.
