Krupp-Protze Kfz. 70

The Krupp L2H43, better known as the 'Krupp Protze', was a six-wheeled light all-terrain vehicle built by Friedrich Krupp AG between 1934 and 1941. The name 'Protze' — artillery limber — reveals its primary role: towing light guns such as the 3.7 cm PaK 36. Its air-cooled four-cylinder boxer engine also earned it the nickname 'Boxer'. With around 7,000 built, the Protze served on every front, from North Africa to the Eastern Front. Its high fuel consumption ultimately proved its downfall: the more economical Opel Blitz took over its role. However, the "Krupp Protze" was one of the most prominent German vehicles from 1937 to 1941.
