Mittlerer Zugkraftwagen 8-t Sd.Kfz. 7

The Sd.Kfz. 7 was a medium half-track prime mover with an eight-tonne towing capacity, developed by Krauss-Maffei (Munich) from 1934 onwards. The KM m 11 type entered series production in 1937 and quickly became the Wehrmacht’s most important artillery tractor. It was designed to tow heavy weapon systems such as the 8.8 cm FlaK, the 10 cm FK 18 gun and the 15 cm sFH 18 howitzer. In addition to the armament, the Sd.Kfz. 7 could accommodate eleven crew members along with the associated ammunition supply. Its robust construction and reliable drivetrain made it an indispensable link in the logistics of artillery units. This year, we expect two of these impressive 8-tonners at Militracks.
