Tempo G1200

This is truly a very special vehicle!! The Tempo G1200 Geländewagen was produced by the German manufacturer Vidal & Sohn in Hamburg between 1936 and 1944, with approximately 1,335 units built. Remarkably innovative for its time, it featured twin engines, each with a separate gearbox, delivering four-wheel drive without a complicated differential. This unique solution gave the G1200 exceptional off-road capabilities, appreciated by both military and civilian users. Though largely overlooked by the German army itself, many vehicles were exported and used during World War II by countries such as Sweden, Finland, and Romania. Its rugged simplicity, ease of maintenance, and distinct appearance have made the Tempo G1200 an intriguing and notable vehicle in the history of military transportation. The car presented at Militracks is a pre-series car which came to Chile as part of a posible arms package shortly before the war. The war then stopped the sale and the car stayed in Chile. Its restoration has been completed just recently!
