Zündapp DB 200

The Zündapp DB 200 was the 'Bauernmotorrad' — the farmer's motorcycle, a bike for everyone. Built by Zündapp-Werke in Nuremberg from 1935 to 1940, it was a simple, affordable and above all indestructible machine with a 200 cc single-cylinder two-stroke engine and a distinctive twin exhaust. With nearly 97,000 produced, the DB 200 helped motorise Germany. Its reliability made it one of the few lightweight motorcycles also adopted by the Wehrmacht. The military version, designated DB 200 W, was distinguished by panniers, blackout lighting and black-painted parts instead of chrome.
