Skoda Superb 3000 Typ 952

From 1941 to 1943, Škoda produced a military version of the Superb 3000 in the German-occupied Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia, based on the civilian Typ 924 chassis. The rear-wheel drive version was designated the Typ 952, later followed by the four-wheel drive Typ 956. The vehicle was powered by a liquid-cooled overhead-valve inline six-cylinder engine with a displacement of 3,137 cc and an output of 80 to 85 hp. The Typ 952 was delivered in three versions: as a Kfz 15 Kübelwagen for personnel transport and reconnaissance, as a Kfz 21 Kommandeurwagen – a luxury command cabriolet used by senior officers such as General Guderian and Field Marshal Rommel – and as a Kfz 31 ambulance. A total of some 1,626 were built. The Škoda Typ 952 was thus one of the lesser-known yet nonetheless remarkable vehicles in the Wehrmacht's inventory.
