During this weekend, various participating reenactment groups will present themselves to visitors against the historical backdrop of the Second World War. For this edition, more than 500 reenactors will take part in the event. They portray, among others, American, British, Canadian, German and Dutch units.

In a professional setting with uniforms and camps, they bring history to life. Visitors can take a look inside and around American, British, Canadian, German and Dutch trenches, fortifications and tents, and talk to the participants.
All participating groups are specially invited for this event and take their role very seriously. Several times a day they even engage in so-called ''Mock Battles'' - complete with blank ammunition, pyrothecnics and vehicles. A grandstand seat is included with the admission ticket; you only need to select your preferred time slot.
LIVING HISTORY IN THE GREEN
In addition to the main arena where the mock battles take place, this edition will feature two additional locations where historical moments from the Second World War are reenacted in small theatrical performances. These take place several times a day. No grandstand reservation is required, but availability si on a first come, first served basis.
Inside the museum, immersive displays will also be created, taking you more than 80 years back in time. For enthusiasts, there will also be a militaria market. In short: a unique experience at a historic location you will not soon forget.

WHERE DOES THE NAME COME FROM?
In Oktober 2022, the Warmuseum Eyewitness in Beek (NL) closed its doors. Part of its remarkable collection was transferred to the Warmuseum Overloon. As a tribute to the Limburg museum, we linked its name to our living history event. The name ''Eyewitness'' also perfectly reflects the essence of our event.
