Bedford QLR

British Bedford type QL in Signals configuration for signal detection, QLR. In other words, a “listening vehicle.” This vehicle was built in 1942 and used by the so-called Y Service, a unit that intercepted (often encrypted) German radio messages and passed them on to Bletchley Park, where the messages were decoded. The vehicle on display in our museum took part in Operation Market Garden, including in the Nijmegen area.
