Experience it for yourself in D-Briefing – a groundbreaking new AI experience at the museum.
World War II may feel more distant with every generation. But the questions it raises – about choices, freedom and solidarity – remain just as relevant today. So how do we keep these stories alive?
Together with Critical Mass, Oorlogsmuseum Overloon introduces a unique experience: D-Briefing. Here, you’ll enter into conversations with virtual characters based on real stories. It’s the first fully AI-driven experience in a Dutch museum.
Step into the story
After your journey through D-DEX – where you follow in the footsteps of the U.S. 146th Engineer Combat Battalion on D-Day – you’ll arrive at a row of old phone booths. Pick up the receiver and start the conversation.
You’ll speak with people who lived through war. Like Lieutenant Ray Lanterman, based on veterans who stormed the beaches of Normandy. You’ve already met him in D-DEX – now you can hear his personal story. Or meet Hanneke, who joined the resistance. And Lena, a young woman whose story of escape feels strikingly familiar today.
Not fiction – real stories
The characters in D-Briefing are AI-driven, but their stories are real. Each is built from historical sources, interviews and documentation.
What does freedom sound like? Come and listen. Ask your questions. And join the conversation.
