Summer holiday with many activities in Overloon War Museum


Come this summer vacation to the largest war museum in the Netherlands and get a bird's-eye view of World War II history. You will see more than 180 military vehicles, ships, aircraft, and cannons. In between, you can relax in our cozy museum café, on the green terrace, and let the kids enjoy the large playground.

Additionally, this summer vacation is filled with interesting activities for young and old. You are warmly welcome! All activities start from Sunday, July 7!

To see and do this summer holiday

‚óŹ Ride in an American Dodge (available until August 11): On Wednesdays, Fridays, or Sundays, take a tour through the museum park in an over 80-year-old Dodge Carryall. Please note, to be sure of your spot and time, you can reserve tickets in advance when you purchase your online ticket.

A ticket costs €5 per person.

If there are still spots available on the day itself, ride tickets will be sold at the museum's ticket counter.

Note: The Dodge makes its last rounds on Sunday, August 11!

  • Tank inspection Take a unique look at the Centurion Tank on Tuesdays from 12:00 to 15:00. Our volunteers are happy to tell you all about it!
  • Weapon Days Every Friday from 12:00 to 15:00, our Firearms Team is ready to explain everything about the weapons used during World War II. The weapons are deactivated and can only be held under supervision. A unique experience!
  • Veterans' Q&A Hour Every Monday and Thursday from 13:00 to 14:30, one of our resident veterans is ready to tell you all about their mission, equipment, challenges, and the people they encountered. No question is too crazy, you can ask anything! And experience for yourself how heavy a flak jacket is. How many push-ups can you do with it on?
  • Take the Wheel of a Nekaf Jeep Experience the nostalgia of the Nekaf Jeep. This vacation, get behind the wheel of the iconic Dutch Jeep from bygone days. See it up close and take a cool photo behind the wheel. Share your photo on social media and tag @oorlogsmuseumoverloon. *The Jeep will be open on Wednesday, August 14 and 21, and Sunday, August 18 and 25 from 13:30 to 16:30.
  • Free Tour! Every day at 13:00, a free tour of the exhibition "The Netherlands in World War II" starts from the reception. A tour lasts about an hour and is also suitable for children; our guides adapt to the needs of the group. You can sign up at the reception.
  • Museum Café Bringing your own food is not necessary. The museum café has plenty of treats on the menu such as special coffees, teas, cold drinks, toasties, fries, a healthy salad, a bowl of soup, or a refreshing ice cream. Based on eight eyewitness stories, you will be taken through the interactive exhibition "The Netherlands during the Second World War". What would you do? Cooperate or resist?
